We collaborate creatively with you to understand your content and your audience for your short explainer video - we guide you through every step of our tried-and-tested process. We’ll work within your budget for either a cost-effective time-lapse video or a more bespoke hand-drawn video. Our collaboration will produce a beautifully simple and short yet powerful hand-drawn animated video you’ll be excited to share with your audience.
Here’s a summary of what you can expect when you work with us to produce an Explainer Video:
initial discussion
Once we’re talking to each other we’ll help you explain your content and the look and feel you’d like from a short video. We’ll guide you through pricing options (hand-drawn timelapse video vs bespoke video) and quote you per minute for the video you want. We’ll be clear about who does what and when, and will manage the project for you.
Storyboard
We produce a hand-drawn draft storyboard, showing key images with text from your script. This gives you the look and feel of the animation so we can discuss more details. This is the time for changes, tweaks and new ideas without committing to video already.
voiceover
By now you’ll have a script, which you’ll record as a voiceover with our guidance. Alternatively we can voiceover your script for you with our professional sound recording equipment.
hand drawings
The agreed storyboard is digitally hand-drawn as a set of digital drawings, using agreed colours, characters, locations, logos - whatever you need to make the video truly yours.
animation editing
Digital drawings and movements are edited by a human with an eye and ear for details, blending in the voiceover and music. We fit the content into the agreed timeframe (usually sub-3 minutes is the most powerful video length).

The final approved video is sent to you and your communication magic can start: Play your video at your conference or event, embed it in your website, send it to new clients or customers… the uses for your explainer video are unlimited (we can help you come up with more ideas)!
A note on Ai:
We don’t use Ai for our explainer videos. Our drawings are human created, our video editing is done by a human and we’ll ask you to use a human for voiceovers. We believe in human-centred communication, and think your audience can tell when you use Ai images, music or voices. Ai is useful for many things, but if you want to really connect with people, hand-drawn images along with a real human voice is a powerful way to reach your audience. Not using Ai for your key communications will also make you stand out from the crowd and tell your audience that you’re interested in connecting with them on a human level.
